The Cottages at Romar is founded on an appeal to the senses and on a desire for a sense of place. The community’s sense of place grows from a commitment to preservation that draws from the environment and the history of Southern Vacation Homesteads. The Cottages at Romar pulls inspiration from beach heritage and regional culture, star reaching palms, and sandy traditions. From graceful waterfowl and the skillful movements of marine life to the history and geography of the Orange Beach shore, The Cottages at Romar adopts similar forms, familiar materials, and modern sensibilities to produce a harmonious and restful community.¬†See our Gallery.

The unique Gulf front community of The Cottages at Romar is planned and built to pay homage to the beach going family traditions of yester-year. With 550+ feet of unspoiled Gulf frontage you will discover the perfect setting for a style of island heritage accented with comfortable grandeur and with plentiful space for families and their guests. As an ecologically sound community, we are also able to offer to all of our owners and guests a chance to reconnect with a more natural beach going experience. Nestled among the lush semi-tropical plantings stand carefully designed Southern Vacation Homesteads with the ideal offering of amenities to lay one’s mind and body at ease.

A great deal of consideration went into choosing the quality of finishes throughout The Cottages at Romar. At The Cottages, the most minute of details help to bring about a homogeneous lifestyle experience for our owners and guests. The colors, the size and finish of each of the brick cobbles, pavers, and other finishes throughout the hardscapes were chosen to blend seamlessly with beach-side ecology. The finishes of our custom crafted entry gate and common structures were chosen for their promise of longevity and the colors adorning these were meant to echo the beautiful colors of nature. This special community was planned and built for a lifetime of enjoyment. In addition we are one of the first communities in the state of Alabama whose building codes adhere to the FORTIFIED Home Program instituted by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. [ View Fact Sheet - PDF ]  FORTIFIED homes are very likely to need fewer repairs after disaster strikes. FORTIFIED homes are better for the environment in the long run because they are not likely to end up as debris in landfills following disasters.
